Sustainability

Who we work with

We are passionate about finding like-minded brands, artists and craftspeople to collaborate with.

All of our makers place a strong emphasis on sustainability in their work, from the materials used to the working methods they employ.

This is hugely important to us in creating a range of homeware that is beautiful and unique, without compromising on being eco-friendly.

Our collection

The vast majority of the products in our collection are made in the UK in order to minimise our carbon footprint and support small UK businesses. The one exception is our baskets from The Basket Room, who partner with over 3,000 weavers across Kenya, Ghana and East Africa. The Basket Room's main goal is to connect these talented weavers with a wider market so that they become less dependent on self-sufficiency farming, which is unreliable during the dry seasons. They work hard to ensure that their weavers are receiving a fair wage and working under ethical working conditions.

All our pieces are handcrafted using carefully selected materials and slow, considered processes - nothing is mass produced. Where possible, recycled and reclaimed materials are used.

You can find out more about where and how individual pieces are made on our product pages.

Our packaging

We have worked hard to source packaging that is recycled and responsibly produced. We encourage you to re-use our packaging where possible.

Our small and medium cardboard packing boxes are made from 100% recycled content, and our larger boxes are made from 80% recycled content. They are all fully recyclable, home compostable and biodegradable.

Our packing tape is made from kraft paper with a natural rubber based adhesive. It is free from plastic & animal products. It can be left on the box to be recycled.

Our packing chips are made from GM-free corn starch and are home compostable or can be dissolved in water.

Our tissue paper is made from 100% recycled content from post-consumer waste, and is fully recyclable, home compostable and biodegradable.

For some of our more fragile ceramic pieces, we use bubble wrap to minimise the risk of any damage during delivery. We are looking for an effective alternative that will keep delicate items well protected during transit.

We are always working to improve on our sustainability, and aim to be clear and open about this.
